You Are My Sunshine/Red River Valley/Tavern in the Town
Various
These songs remind me of happy times as a child at the pianola.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
You never know, dear, how much I love you,
Please don’t take my sunshine away.
The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping
I dreamt I held you in my arms.
When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken
And I hung my head and I cried
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
You never know, dear, how much I love you,
Please don’t take my sunshine away.
From this valley they say you are going
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For they say you are taking the sunshine
That has brightened these hills for a while.
Come and sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
But remember the Red River Valley
And the girls who has loved you so true.
There is a tavern in the town (in then town)
And there my true love sits him down (sits him down)
And drinks his wine with laughter gay and free
And never, ever thinks of me.
Fare thee well for I must leave thee,
Do not let the parting grieve thee,
And remember that the best of friends must part (must part)
Adieu, adieu, kind friends, adieu, (yes, adieu)
I can no longer stay with you (stay with you)
I’ll hang my heart from a weeping willow tree,
And may the world go well with thee.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
You never know, dear, how much I love you,
Please don’t take my sunshine away.

The Tooth Fairy
When one of Bonny’s teeth fell out, I put it in a glass of water and put it on top of the fridge for the Tooth Fairy to find.
Here’s what I think happened next.
Tim was about four years old at the time. He noticed the glass of water on top of the fridge. Jay was in the kitchen, and he told Jay he was thirsty and pointed to the glass of water already conveniently available. Jay obligingly gave it to him.
He drank it down, along with the tooth.
It was only a tiny tooth, but I still don’t understand why he didn’t notice it.
So Bonny’s tooth was lost. Hence this letter to the Tooth Fairy.
